At the moment Computer Share Details is ahead with 78% of the vote.
As with all of our dashboard and report giveaways, they can all be found within the Enhansoft Reporting product. To learn more about Enhansoft Reporting, please visit the product page.
Computer Share Details
This report is found within Enhansoft Reporting’s Share category. The Computer Share Details report provides you with information about the share type, name, path, and caption for a specific PC. The second section of this report will provide the list of permissions on each share. Additionally, you can decide whether or not to include administrative shares such as: Disk Drive Admin, Print Queue Admin, Device Admin, or IPC Admin.
Performing a manual audit of all network shares is a time-consuming project, but it may be required in order to become compliant with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or other standards.
The Share category of reports allows for an accurate and efficient review of all shares (shared folders, shared printers, etc.). Knowing this information is helpful in tracking down rogue shares that may not be properly configured or shouldn’t exist in the first place. Routinely reviewing these reports will help reduce risk because administrators can now be more proactive in changing or removing shares as needed.
Computer Share Details is the final drill through report from List of PCs by Share Type and List of Shares by Trustee. All of these reports are included within the full Enhansoft Reporting product.
Additionally, you can setup an email subscription to the Computer Share Details report. Setting-up a subscription will allow the report to be emailed at scheduled times. This feature is also available with a number of Enhansoft Reporting’s dashboards/reports. For more details about how to setup an email subscription, please see this post, How to Set-up an Email Subscription in SSRS.
