I run into various issues with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). There are two different fixes for the following SSRS access denied error message.
As a Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager (MEMCM / MECM/ SCCM / CM / ConfigMgr admin, you will run into these too. As such, you will need to know how to fix both of them. Really the first one will only affect you on the SSRS server itself.
“User ‘GARTEK\morgan’ does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.”
You would think that the only solution is to grant access to SSRS, but it all depends on how you are accessing the reports:
firstly, If you are accessing the SSRS website locally on the SSRS server and you get this error then run your browser in the elevated mode. This will grant you access to the SSRS website. This will only happen when you try to access SSRS website from the SSRS server itself. In a nutshell the problem is UAC is getting in the way. Hence, using a elevated browser solves the problem.
Secondly, If you are accessing the SSRS server remotely then it means that you don’t have the right permissions to access the SSRS website. In this second case assign yourself the rights via the ConfigMgr console. It will take at least 15 minutes you will be able to access the site. Once the time has passed you can try again and you should have access to CM reports.
