SSRS Access Denied Message

By Garth Jones

There are two different fixes for the following error message:

“User ‘GARTEK\morgan’ does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.”

SSRS Access Denied Message

You would think that the only solution is to grant access to SSRS, but it all depends on how you are accessing the reports:

1. If you are accessing the SSRS website locally on the SSRS server and you get this error then run your browser in the elevated mode. This will grant you access to the SSRS website.

2. If you are accessing the SSRS server remotely then it means that you don’t have the right permissions to access the SSRS website. In this second case assign yourself the rights via the ConfigMgr console and after 15 minutes you will be able to access the site.
