How to Install Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Servicing Extension

By Garth Jones

If you are like me, you live and breathe in the ConfigMgr 2012 console, so you don’t always get to see all the latest and greatest blog posts or updates about ConfigMgr 2012. However, by installing the Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Servicing Extension (CMSE), you can see all the latest news about ConfigMgr 2012, including software updates.

On the computer where the ConfigMgr 2012 console is installed, download CMSE and start the installation process.

Install CMSE - License Agreement

Select I accept the… and then click on Install.

Install CMSE - Finish

Click Finish.

Install CMSE - Console

Now open your ConfigMgr 2012 console and navigate to the Administration | Site Servicing node. From this node you can see the latest blog posts from the ConfigMgr Team and the current ConfigMgr 2012 software updates. In tomorrow’s blog post, I will show you how to add more blog feeds (RSS) to CMSE.
